About the Role

mindbodygreen is looking for Senior Lifecycle Marketing Manager to own retention across our e-commerce business. This is a high-impact, cross-functional role with one core mandate: grow customer lifetime value and retention. LTV and retention are the north stars of this position — everything from strategy to channel execution to agency direction is oriented around deepening relationships with our existing customer base, driving repeat purchase, and reducing churn through thoughtful, data-informed lifecycle programs.


You'll serve as the internal strategic lead and day-to-day partner to our external lifecycle marketing agency, ensuring that channel execution (email, SMS, and beyond) is on-brand, insight-driven, and optimized for results. This role requires someone who can think like a strategist and operate like a builder — comfortable in the data, fluent in the customer journey, and skilled at managing agency relationships to deliver on ambitious goals.

 

What You’ll Own

Retention Strategy

  • Develop and own the overarching lifecycle marketing strategy for the e-commerce business, with a focus on increasing repeat purchase rates, subscription growth, and long-term customer LTV

  • Define the customer journey — from post-purchase onboarding through loyalty and win-back — and ensure every touchpoint reinforces the mindbodygreen brand and drives measurable action

  • Partner with the broader marketing, product, and e-commerce teams to align lifecycle efforts with key commercial priorities and seasonal campaigns

Agency Management

  • Serve as the primary internal point of contact for our lifecycle agency, reviewing creative and copy, and holding the agency accountable to agreed-upon KPIs and timelines

  • Translate business goals into actionable agency workstreams, and ensure that all agency output meets mindbodygreen's brand standards, tone of voice, and strategic priorities

  • Facilitate regular cadences (weekly standups, monthly reviews, quarterly planning) to ensure alignment and continuous improvement

Channel Execution & Optimization

  • Oversee email and SMS programs end-to-end — including segmentation strategy, automation flows, campaign planning, A/B testing, and deliverability

  • Identify gaps and opportunities in the current lifecycle ecosystem and build the roadmap to address them

  • Champion a test-and-learn culture, designing experiments that generate actionable insights and steadily improve core retention metrics

Analytics & Reporting

  • Define and track the KPIs that matter most for retention: repeat purchase rate, subscriber retention, average order frequency, LTV cohorts, and churn

  • Build and maintain reporting (providing guidance to our analytics team) that provides clear visibility into program performance for key stakeholders

  • Use customer data and segmentation insights to identify high-value audiences and personalize communications at scale

Team & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Build and lead a small, high-performing retention team (lifecycle marketing manager or agency)

  • Partner closely with performance marketing to ensure acquisition-to-retention handoffs are seamless and that CAC:LTV ratios are optimized

  • Collaborate with product and operations on packaging, fulfillment experience, and subscription flexibility features

  • Work with the creative team to develop retention-specific creative assets, including educational content, testimonials, and UGC campaigns

 

What We're Looking For

  • 5–8 years of lifecycle or retention marketing experience, ideally in a DTC or e-commerce environment

  • Proven track record of driving measurable retention and LTV results through email, SMS, and CRM programs

  • Experience managing and directing external agencies or vendors, with the ability to lead without direct authority

  • Strong analytical mindset — you're comfortable pulling your own data, interpreting cohort analyses, and building the business case for new initiatives

  • Deep, hands-on expertise in Klaviyo is required — you should be fluent in flows, segmentation, A/B testing, deliverability, and performance reporting within the platform; this role lives in Klaviyo day-to-day

  • A deep appreciation for brand — you understand that retention isn't just about driving the next transaction, it's about building lasting customer relationships

  • Excellent project management and communication skills; you can manage multiple workstreams and stakeholders simultaneously without dropping the ball
